Before I even started my studies at the University of Zurich, I knew that I would join the MUN Team.
I had been familiar with the concept of Model United Nations from my Bachelor’s at the University of Regensburg in Germany, where I served as Vice President of the United Nations Society and took part in RegMUN, our very own conference.
Still, what I was missing, was the experience of international MUN conferences, which I am now very glad to catch up on with the Zurich Team. Harvard WorldMUN, with the topic of religious conflict in the European Union, was definitely my highlight so far and shows how perfectly you can match your studies with MUN.
In September, I started a Joint Master’s Degree in Religion - Economics - Politics and within this field, I am especially interested in the intersection between religion and politics.
With the position as Junes/UNYA Delegate, I am representing our interests in the United Nations Youth Association Switzerland, the umbrella organization for all university-level MUN teams in Switzerland. I look forward to shaping the cooperation of the Swiss MUN societies and to connecting our team with our neighbours for joint events, projects and conferences.
Since I am not only studying in Zurich, but also at the universities of Lucerne and Basel, I don‘t mind traveling and am frequently in touch with other students - an important requirement for this board position!
